Calakmul is a Mayan archaeological site located in the Petén jungle, in the Mexican state of Campeche, surrounded by trees.

Going there is more than two hours from the city of Campeche. The road is in good condition. There is road, hotel, places to eat. It is not far from everything, but inside that jungle there is a feeling of being alone, far away, and in contact with nature and the past.

Go there. It is ideal to travel alone, or with friends, with small children. Look for your children to have fun and sweat climbing to the top of a pyramid.

Breathe among its trees. You can take a trip of 2 nights 3 days. From there you can visit other important pre-Hispanic sites around, such as Chicanná, Becán, Xpuji.

Here we put some photos.
